The Red Box recording system is scalable and specifically designed to be used within a resilient configuration. It will automatically fail over to standby systems and enable recovery to normal operation without IT involvement. The system’s unique design and embedded data mean that all calls have all this associated data at all times, keeping everything simple, easy to maintain and ultimately resilient.
At a modular level, each voice recorder is fitted with resilient components (such as HDD and PSU). Coupled with the recorder’s architecture, which encompasses all system elements in one server, the system is as robust as possible with minimal footprint and support implications. The technology ensures that the system is fully backed-up through archiving to removable media or online network-based storage. This delivers full resilience from data loss; meaning that if any component should fail, the system will recover all data to the point of failure (within 3 seconds), delivering built-in DR functionality and ensuring your data is secure and accessible.
At a system level, each recorder can be fully duplicated. This is standard within the Red Box solution and results in an automated master/slave system with no single point of failure. It also automates the process of fall-back and recovery following an outage and repair. No IT involvement is needed – it’s a simple administrator process. User functionality is unaffected and completely transparent to recorder-level changes in day-to-day operation.
This architecture makes the solution easy to administer. Upgrades can be achieved smoothly and without disruption. You simply have to keep the master and slave systems at the same level of capacity and configuration to ensure complete resilience. In fact, this is the only solution that combines no single point of failure, true business continuity and 99.999% availability (uptime).
For additional fall-back or disaster recovery, Red Box provides the same level of recording infrastructure for the fall-back site to ensure everything is captured no matter where calls are routed. For fall-back and replay, we offer the MediaServer which enables you to connect to any network storage and recover recordings, replay archive media or recover data from a damaged recorder. It’s all instantly available for replay and analysis as a stand-alone system or as part of the wider enterprise.
A centralised server connects to each voice recorder and delivers a single replay capability. This can be duplicated for resilience, business continuity and fall-back for the enterprise. The same software is used across the whole solution, giving simple support, training and roll-out.
