Simpler smarter voice

Wordnet™ support

If you own a Wordnet™ voice recording system, you’re at the right place.

Red Box created and owns the IPR to the Wordnet™ Series 3 core software; we continue to develop and support solutions that run this software.

Red Box can support your Wordnet™ for:

  • Additional channel licensing
  • New features and functionality
  • VoIP support for any switch variant, including SIP and H323
  • Network-based (NAS, SAN, etc) storage for increased online capacity and intelligent storage for resilience, scheduled archives and archive grouping
  • Additional applications for multiple channel replay and disclosure, quality management, screen recording, radio integration, record on-demand, system integration, and so on

Maintain your system’s value

We offer a full technology upgrade programme to maximise the value of your current system (it’s a principle of ours that you only pay for a voice recording channel once). Red Box upgrades are a cost-effective way to retain your data, calls, cabling and infrastructure, as well as to support improved performance, capability and functionality.

As our software is hardware-independent, the solution offers an excellent evergreen future, with low cost of ownership. It’s a total solution for traditional fixed line systems (TDM), through converged and mixed environments to high-volume pure IP infrastructures used in modern communications environments. So, whatever your situation, you can sure it’s right for you.

Wordnet™ background

Racal Recorders manufactured Wordnet™ voice recorders – the world’s most popular and successful voice recording products. Wordnet™ was developed and marketed from 1993 to 2005 and was known as:

  • Wordnet™ P1, 2 & 3 – 1993-2000
  • Wordnet™ Series 2 – 2000-2003
  • Wordnet™ Series 3 – 2003-March 2005

Later variants were marketed under the Thales Contact Solutions brand and more recently as NICE Systems.

Thompson CSF acquired Racal Recorders, re-branded the organisation as Thales, then sold Thales Contact Solutions to Israel-based NICE Systems. NICE Systems withdrew Wordnet™ (plus Mirra, Renaissance and all other Racal technology) as part of their ‘sunset policy’ soon after acquiring these products. NICE also acquired Dictaphone and withdrew the full range of Dictaphone products (Prolog, Guardian, Freedom and DaVinci).

Why Red Box for Wordnet™

Red Box and the founding organisation behind it, Origin Data Realisation, developed Wordnet™ as an outsourced project for Racal Recorders around 17 years ago. Red Box subsequently developed its own software recording solution in 2000. This was initially marketed by Racal Recorders as Wordnet™ Series 3.

This means that the Red Box team understands the full range of Wordnet™ products and can support, enhance and upgrade any version. The later Wordnet™ Series 3 uses our core software and was white-labelled and licensed by Racal Recorders. As a result, we can provide full ongoing support for any Wordnet™ Series 3, including the latest interfaces and functionality.

You can be sure that all your old calls are stored for replay as part of the upgraded system, giving a simpler, smarter solution for your voice, data and screen recording.
