Red Box continues to go East

Nottingham, UK – 28th June 2010 – Leading voice recording
and retrieval specialist Red Box Recorders is continuing its successful growth
in the APAC region with the recent signing of a new deal with Synnex (Thailand),
a leading Cisco distributor based in Bangkok, who has become both a customer
			and a reseller.

Synnex is the eleventh customer win for Red Box in Thailand in recent months
and also becomes its fifth reseller in the region. The company will use the
Red Box solution to record all telephone conversations generated from its
sales department with the capacity to record 90 channels. The solution also
delivers standard Cisco recording utilising port spanning and will go live
			in early June.

By recording all sales conversations and customer orders, the sales department
will be able to verify that the verbal order is correct and minimise any
unnecessary shipping costs. In addition in cases when no purchase order is
raised, usually because of time pressures, a record of the verbal promises
made by either side will exist, eliminating any potential disputes.

Anuchit Boonyalug, Senior Executive Vice President, at Synnex, said: “As
a customer we have been impressed by the Red Box solution and in particular
how easy it is to install and maintain. As a reseller we believe that its
proven ability to integrate with a range of telephony systems, including
CISCO, is also extremely appealing. This combined with the fact that it is
a highly cost competitive solution makes it the best one currently on the
			market.”

Lee Jones, Sales Director at Red Box Recorders, said: “This partnership
provides us with the ideal opportunity to continue to increase our exposure
in the APAC region where we believe there are significant opportunities for
solutions like ours. Red Box systems can now be found in many parts of the
world as we continue to significantly increase both the numbers of our partners

Mobile recording: one tap too far?

In March 2010, the FSA announced a consultation over removing the exemption
on recording calls from employees’ mobiles. It’s still possible for you
to give your views on the subject by downloading
	    the recent FSA newsletter,
	    reading the CP10/7 Consultation
Paper and responding to the FSA with comments
	    by 14 June 2010.

None of this should be news to anyone working in finance. In 2009, the
FSA introduced rules requiring member firms to record and store all landline
calls for six months. It was only a matter of time before it reconsidered
	    mobile calls.

In its consultation paper, the FSA states that technology can now enable
firms to do this. While the proposed rule change will only apply to mobiles
issued for business, the FSA is also expected to require firms to take ‘reasonable
steps’ so that business calls are not made on personal mobiles.

The cost, of course, to business will be substantial: the FSA estimates
that the new mobile recording regulations will cost UK businesses around
£11 million to introduce and £18 million per year to run.

Fortunately, there’s already a Red Box solution

As a leading supplier of compliant digital recording, with a strong presence
in finance, Red Box Recorders has pre-empted the consultation and launched
a mobile recording solution. If you’re familiar with our products, you’ll
know that it is easy to use, quick to implement and extremely cost-effective.

You can read our own press
announcement here. If you’d like more information,

Red Box launches Custody &amp Interview Suite.

Nottingham, UK – 4th May 2010 – Red Box Recorders has launched a niche
recording solution, specifically engineered for the Custody and Witness,
National Constabulary digital requirement. Designed to replace existing
outdated analogue systems with a full HD, digital solution it can be easily
integrated with existing technology and is available as an extension to
existing Red Box customers in the sector. It is also being made available
to a wider audience through Red Box resellers that are selected as part
	    of the NPIA framework.

The Red Box Custody & Interview Suite can be delivered as a static
network product to the custody and criminal investigation theatre or as
a totally portable crime scene and witness solution and is driven by simple,
easy to use touch screen applications. Both solutions enable users to create
digital markers by touching the screen to highlight key areas of interest
and the unique hand held tablet option ensures added confidentiality and
	    security.

Additional options are designed to increase security and reduce administration
and include a custody monitoring application which enables the custody supervisor
to view live feed from all cameras at the station, touch screen alerts and
	    centralised scheduling.

The Red Box Custody & Interview Suite is designed to be fully compatible
with a range of NPIA publications including the Freedom of Information Act
2000, Information System Strategy for the Police Service, Criminal Procedure
and Investigations 1996 and the Government Protective Marking Scheme.

Lee Jones, Sales Director at Red Box, said: “We already have a strong customer
base in this sector, with our police command and control install base solution
and the introduction of the Custody & Interview Suite enables existing
customers to continue to purchase from us to extend their solution.

“At the moment, UK police forces typically record interviews on tapes or
CDs or other removable media and face potentially considerable expense and
disruption as they make the necessary change to digital systems. The Red
Box Custody & Interview Suite is intuitive to use, cost effective to
purchase, easy to integrate and is fully future proof. We believe that it
will help save the UK police a significant amount of time and money, whilst
also ensuring that evidence is presented securely, accurately and safely.”

As standard the Red Box Custody & Interview Suite delivers up to 4
channels of audio and video and this can be increased up to 16 channels
with a bespoke solution. It also provides independent network image streaming
for added security and has full search/replay from standard Red Box browser
controls with full interview reporting using fixed templates.

About Red Box Recorders

The Red Box solution utilises a unique technology offering a single software-based
solution that can be implemented modularly, meaning excellent budgetary
control, flexibility of deployment and unlimited scalability. It is completely
web-based for ease of use and fast roll-out, and its simplicity means that
it can be managed by operational personnel rather than the IT specialists.

Red Box Recorders announces mobile recording solution.

Nottingham, UK – 28th April 2010 – Following last month’s announcement
of the FSA’s consultation regarding the likely removal of the mobile phone
recording exemption, Red Box Recorders has reassured its customers that
it has a solution already in place that will address this new regulation
should it be enforced and will cover all mobile networks.

In its consultation paper, the FSA states technology has advanced sufficiently
to enable firms to tape calls from staff mobiles. The wiretap can either
take place on the handset itself via a remote server, and retrieved and
stored on an in-house or outsourced hosted server. While the scope of the
proposed rule change will only apply to mobile phones issued by firms for
business purposes, the FSA is also proposing to introduce a new rule requiring
firms to take “reasonable steps” to ensure that business calls are not made
	    on personal mobiles.

“It is true that the technology exists but the FSA estimates that the new
mobile recording regulations will cost UK businesses approximately £11 million
to introduce and £18 million per year to run – money that many of them can
ill afford. Therefore it was vital that the Red Box mobile recording solution
was easy to use, quick to implement and extremely cost effective,” explains
Lee Jones, Sales Director at Red Box.

As a result, in anticipation of the consultation and in line with its ongoing
strategy of working with best of breed technology partners, Red Box has
been reviewing various solutions available on the market and taken the decision
to add a Mobile Compliance Suite to its existing market leading solution.
This will enable organisations in the Financial Services industry to record
their mobile communications in a fully compliant manner, to ensure that
users adhere to market regulations and also meet FSA, MiFID and BSI0008
	    standards.

Lee Jones, Sales Director at Red Box, said: “The Mobile Compliance Suite
continues to support Red Box’s commitment to continually strive to deliver
simple, easy to use solutions that involve best of breed applications. For
many organisations this is as much about managing risk as it is about mobile
compliance. Our solution involves the recording, storage and retrieval of
mobile electronic communications and ensures compliance with the necessary
standards, but beyond this, it will also help organisations to manage the
inherent risk which surrounds the use of mobiles and enable them to act
on the information gathered, in real time.”

During 2009 we bucked the economic trend with a growth in revenue of over
30%. This success has been because companies are looking for a value-for-money,
future-proof service and are challenging traditional solutions. Many
of our competitors have been very complacent and failed to respond to changing
market requirements. They continue to market overly complex systems that
are expensive to maintain and require significant input from overstretched
	    IT teams.

This is certainly the feedback we are getting from businesses that are
increasingly turning to Red Box. We have achieved record levels of new and
repeat business from a wide range of companies including Auto Windscreens,
Equidity, Cambridge Police, Allianz and North Yorkshire Council.

Looking forward, we have strengthened our operation in North America and
are building on our relationships with financial institutions. We will be
able to provide services to organisations that work out of New York and
London, and a seamless package to those with a broader international presence.

However this year we intend to do ‘more of the same’, by continuing to
deliver simple, easy-to-use modular solutions that give excellent budgetary
control, flexible deployment and unlimited scalability. There’s no doubt
that we are in a great position for 2010 with an extremely strong partner
network. Everyone at Red Box is excited by the challenges and determined
to build on our success of last year.

Over the past few weeks we have changed the way that we look after customers.
We have doubled the size of the team and integrated the three key elements
of engineering, software development and helpdesk. This means that customers
looking for support will be able to get all their issues resolved with one
	    phone call.

We have also recently launched a new remote support tool that allows our
technicians to solve problems or upload fixes online. Customers can connect
to us quickly and easily after an initial phone call or e-mail to the Red
	    Box helpdesk.

Te remote support tool is here.

New improved suite of recording products

Red Box Recorders has completely overhauled its range of recording solutions,
bringing them into a single suite with a new name. Called Quantify, it’s
a modular set of powerful .net applications with a fresh, easy-to-use interface.

Any organisation can start with Quantify’s Search and Replay module and
add in applications – everything from quality management to affordable analytics
	    – as needed. These can be scaled effortlessly across the enterprise as requirements
	    grow.

Users can manage the solution themselves, without having to rely on IT
specialists. Equally, you can manage their experience, with different levels
of functionality according to their roles.

Here’s a quick summary of the different modules:

Quantify Search and Replay

Handles search and replay of calls from all Red Box recording solutions.
Replay calls from any available device, HDD or network location. Each recording
server can support up to 50 concurrent replay sessions.

Quantify Event Reconstruction

A powerful multiple-channel replay application that reconstructs a single
	    event, fast.

Quantify Call Management

Collects all incoming and outgoing voice sessions from IP and legacy PBXs,
mobile operators and other call information sources, then records and analyses
	    the data.

Quantify Virtual Observer

Assess agent performance, report and offer feedback, make management decisions
based on qualitative evaluation of interactions.

Quantify AudioFinder

Quick yet accurate searches on the spoken word content in voice calls.

SMEs really click with voice recording

Until recently, many small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) felt that the cost
and size of a voice recording system were prohibitive. However, Red Box
Recorders has proven that this is no longer the case with software-only
solutions that make voice recording accessible and future-proof.

In the last few months we have seen a sharp increase in enquiries from
SMEs. They finally realise that they can afford simple, low-maintenance
solutions that deliver all the benefits previously available only to large
	    organisations.

SMEs can now get true value from being able to monitor and record audio
communications. They can train staff, manage performance and quality, and
reduce costs. The result: a direct increase in revenue as good employees
are retained, better customer service and faster time-to-market for their
	    products.

Apart from offering unique technology, the Red Box solution uses a single
software-based system that can be implemented in modules, giving excellent
budgetary control. It is web-based for ease of use and fast roll-out, and
can be managed by operational personnel rather than IT specialists. SMEs
can use their own hardware to maximise buying power. Alternatively, they
can opt for a full turnkey solution for simple procurement and support.

The solution is also completely scalable: it will grow with the organisation
and adapt as telephony and radio systems change. Companies can add functionality,
such as audio analytics, quality management and screen recording, when they
require it. That makes it easy to fulfil requirements from different functions
and operational needs with the same core investment.

There’s no doubt that the right voice-recording system can enhance the
success of any company that interacts with customers by phone. The benefits
can help SMEs stand out in their markets and create a valuable competitive
edge – vital in today’s challenging economic climate.

Get a grip on PCI compliance

The implications of PCI compliance for voice recording have attracted discussion
and contradictory views. Unfortunately, some organisations with vested interests
have made misleading statements, so the picture is confusing. We want to
	    make things clearer.

As an authority in this area, we have written a summary that shows what
PCI compliance means to you and your customers.

You can read our summary here or download it as a pdf document from the
same page. We’d really welcome your comments. Do let us know, too, if

Mitsui Bussan chooses Red Box solution

Nottingham, UK – 19th March 2010 – Mitsui Bussan Commodities Ltd (MBC)
has chosen Red Box Recorders, the leading independent specialist in voice
recording, storage and retrieval, to replace the company’s legacy voice
recording system at its head office in London.

Mitsui Bussan Commodities Ltd provides risk management services to the
global metals and mining industries and related investors and the Red Box
solution will cover all front office staff. It has the capacity to record
up to forty-five BT ITS trading positions and one hundred Cisco IP handsets
all on a single server, making it easy to maintain and support.

The company’s decision to partner with Red Box was partly driven by the
need to meet new FSA regulations requiring financial services organisations
to update their voice recording policies. In addition Mitsui Bussan Commodities
Ltd was keen to move to a system that was reliable and simple to use with
the option of adding functionality in the future. The company also wanted
a more dynamic solution that would deliver a greater level of flexibility
when managing the day-to-day changes that had previously proved troublesome.

One of the key advantages that Red Box was able to offer Mitsui was the
ability to record both traditional telephony and VoIP within a single server
as well as offering both CTI integration and archive management. This meant
that despite the fact that communications space is at an all time high,
Mitsui were able to reduce the total footprint by 80%.

Alison Heath, Manager, IT Support Services at Mitsui Bussan Commodities
Ltd, said: “Our previous system was becoming increasingly unreliable. We
were looking for a company that could provide us with a simple to use, easy
to maintain system that would provide online storage for all our calls with
a comprehensive and reliable search facility. We went to the marketplace
and found that Red Box Recorders was the best available in class and could
provide us with a cost effective solution that ticked all the boxes.”

Lee Jones, Sales Director at Red Box Recorders, said: “Our solution for
Mitsui Bussan not only records all communications, it also captures and
stores the data in one of the most established and resilient architectures
available. This means that they can benefit from a solution that is always
instantly accessible and retains records automatically in line with their
	    business guidelines.”
